Young Waytler Payton

Walter Payton who was born in 1954 in Columbia, Mississippi, which is in the heart of the racially-charged south, was one of player in Chicago Bears. there were three children in his family-Eddie, Walter and Pam. When they were young, they always played in the woods around the small town. Besides exploring, fishing, and hiking, they did their best to involve in all kinds of sports. In summer, they will move a pile of topsoil little by little to enjoy themselves. Thus, the children would never get into trouble with others.

When he got to high school, he played football in his first three years there. As a senior, he decided to integrate Columbia High for the reason that it was limited for blacks in the south to be recruited as athlete even in the late 1960’s. As a result, most, like Payton, chose to stay closer to home at traditionally black schools such as Jackson State. Later, Payton followed his brother there.

Payton was selected by the Bears in the fourth pick in the 1975 NFL draft, the reason of which is still a mystery until now. In Bears, Payton became famous with Walter Payton jersey. When he played in Bears, he made great achievements.
